All the times you trotted in my head,
Telling me things, I would have never said.
Waiting for me to speak,
Utter, whine, rant and cry;
Unbind, unlearn, unleash and untie;
My emotions and my faith,
My past and my pain bequeathed.
You wrapped your arms round,
Held me close, steady and sound,
Until joy and hope do surround,
And yes, I am home bound.
This is how I remember you.
In my times of turmoil more,
Where my joys were found.
You cooked pasta and we sang songs unknown.
You pulled my abnormality into your everyday normalcy!
I was looking at the cactuses and throns.
You showed me the poppies and pansies!
Made me eat that popsicle i didn't fancy!
Wore me a saree and have me dancin'!
You told me to live -
Not in the orphaned hopes of the past,
But in the cheers of the present;
In the beauty of another day,
The tranquility of the night sky.
You told me to stand my ground strong.
Hold things that are firm,
And people close, who loved !
Leaving dead, the ones who were uncertain.
To tread along with your song;
For there never was, anything wrong!
