The ocean in me

There is an ocean under my feet
There is one above my head
Ever changing with the ripples from time
Shifting in constant forward
Pulling me backward into the depth of a past
Throwing me again into a future unknown
And yet on some days
Calms my chaos
Balms my sorrows
In its widest spread
My eyes travel a world
Of imagination and hope
While the ocean spreads far and wide
Looking for someone like me
Who will wear her overhead
And let her run free underfeet too
Never binding, never questioning
Of why she makes those tides
Why she waits for a full moon
Why she is quiet on some days
Why is she turbulant on others
Why she rides the wind
And play alongside the shore
Why she hides the treasure
And also the ruins of a stigma sick soceity
We all want someone like her
To become like her
Wild and majestic
Also Surreal and mystic
Free from bondage and any fear
Free to choose who one wants to be
To wreck a corroding system
To smash the social order
To revive and reinstall faith
To resurrect and reform us
Regenerate within us hope
Refill us with joy again
The ocean washes as it retreats
Cleanses and restores dreams pretty neat
Immerse in it
Emerge from it
The ocean in me,
Is the ocean I see.
(Overhead and underfeet)
